I wander through narrow canyons flanked by skyscrapers.
It is loud, private helicopters in the sky, the din of the street,
the park teeming with kids – restless,
the hushed homeless lying on the sidewalks.

And yet – a rooster crows, swarms of cicadas chirp,
the rumble of the strikers' drums drift over Avenida Paulista on a Sunday.
